Kim found us through Facebook when she saw
some pictures her friend posted up of a shoot we had done. She had notice we had a casting call for a specific shoot and found interest in the theme. We have been lucky to shoot a few different times. (see below for more info on casting calls)
Kim shoots themes she is interest in
It sounds intuitive, but Kim likes to shoot themes that she is interested in. This lets her show up ready and excited to shoot and relaxed as we go through different concepts. It is natural to have some nerves as you prepare for a shoot as many of the models in our podcasts mention. Excitement about the concepts and themes you are about to shoot will help with this, as will working in a relaxing environment. You can tell that she has a great time and our favorite images are some of the candid shots. She did have some modeling experience, but that isn’t necessary to work with us at all.
Kim is drawn to themes with firearms and likes to share these images with her husband. We have access to quite a number of different types of firearms and this can be a can be a theme you can shoot with us if you would like.
Some of our favorite shots with Kim
Our first shoot together was with some vintage firearms. We didn’t have a proper vintage wardrobe to do a proper “vintage” shoot, but as you can see Kim’s images turned out great!
A Rockabilly Themed Shoot
The next shoot we worked with Kim in was a rockabilly/firearm shoot. We had a little more time and worked through a number of different wardrobe changes. Here are a few pictures with some commentary on why we like these shots (and working with her)
On occasion we put up a casting call on our Facebook on occasion like this:
Casting calls are a good way to get to work with us for a free or TFP in technical terms. We use the images from these shoots for our own projects, advertising and other things like prints. You also get the images and usually can use them as you would like. We like to work with people that show up prepared and are fun to work with obviously. These opportunities come up on occasion and are a good way to get to work with us on a limited budget.
